Guess I’m back. Decided recently to get back to the place I was years ago. Happiness, feeling liberated, free. Amazing what a pandemic can do. I say that with sarcasm, but there is some truth with it. My meaningless career I’ve had for over 12 years is about to end, and I’m thrilled. Like a leach I have sucked out everything I could from it, and I “won” when many who will continue to work there lose.
I left on my own accord. Like leaving a horrible relationship. No regrets. Everyone there concerned, confused. They will continue to lie in the mirror to themselves everyday when they get up to get ready for work. I can walk out with my head held high, getting what I wanted out of it. Ultimately affirmation that they needed me much more than I ever needed it.
